Key Scripture
And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee. And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. – Ezekiel 2:1-2 (KJV)
Introduction
Hearing God’s voice is the key to direction, peace and success in life. Yet, in today’s noisy world dominated by social media and distractions, many have become spiritually deaf. Fake news is peddled and everything has become a joke. In this message, we explore the importance of being led by the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to guide every aspect of our lives.
1. The Need for The Spirit
The Bible makes it clear that without the Holy Spirit, we cannot hear God. Ezekiel 2:1-2 says, “And the Spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.” This means that before we can truly hear God, the Spirit must first enter us.
2. Why Many Cannot Hear God
- Spiritual Deafness: Many people struggle to hear God because they are not in Him. They are too distracted by worldly noise and influences.
- The Distraction of Social Media: Fake news and worldly entertainment have made people lose sensitivity to the Spirit.
- Alternative Voices: When people have too many options and rely on their own understanding, they stop listening to God.
- Strange gods in Our Lives: Anything that takes more of your time than God has become your idol.
3. The Power of God’s Voice
- Everything happening in the physical realm has a spiritual influence behind it.
- Behind every action and character, there is a spirit.
- Even alcohol has a spirit attached to it.
- Be mindful of the conversations you entertain, as they can carry spiritual weight.
- When people are falling, they look for something to hold—don’t allow yourself to be their crutch in the wrong way.
4. The Spiritual Realm and It’s Influence
Everything on earth has a spirit following it.
- In the bible, Moses laid hands on Joshua and transferred the spirit.
- Even drinking alcohol has a spirit.
- Behind every action and character you see there is a spirit.
- Be careful of the conversations you entertain.
- When people want to fall they will look for something to hold. Don’t make yourself what they hold.
5. The Role of The Holy Spirit
There are some things you cannot do until the spirit of the Lord comes upon you. Pursue the spirit. God does not have two spirits, He has just one, that is the Holy Ghost. Every manifestation of God is propelled by the Holy Ghost. When Jesus came to earth the Holy Ghost was His father.
6. Keys To Walking In The Spirit
- Make God Your Priority: When God is first, everything else, including financial provision, follows.
- Stop Expecting Money for Every Service Rendered: True prosperity comes from serving without selfish expectations.
- Reprogram Your Mindset: Until your thinking aligns with God, He cannot move in your life.
- Ask the Holy Ghost for Guidance: Before reacting to a problem, seek the Spirit’s direction.
- Recognize the Source of Your Problems: A problem whose root cause is known is easier to solve.
Conclusion
Until your mindset is reprogrammed God cannot move. When things are not working, don’t shout. First, ask the Holy Ghost to fill you and ask Him to reveal to you why it is not working. The Holy Spirit is the key to hearing God, He knows all things. Without Him, we remain spiritually deaf and directionless. Make it your goal to pursue the Spirit, listen to His voice, and allow Him to lead your life. When you do, peace, direction, and success will follow.
