Key Scripture
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. – Psalm 75: 6-7 (KJV)
Introduction
In life, there are principles that govern success and at the heart of true greatness is the undeniable HEP OF GOF. Many believe that hard work, connections and sheer determination lead to success, but the reality is that only God’s divine intervention brings lasting elevation.
1. The North: The Divine Symbol of Authority
Our opening scripture mentions directions, but the North is left out—the symbolic seat of God. This omission is not an oversight but a revelation: promotion comes only from God. The world may place its faith in human effort, but true lifting is a divine act. You cannot live in error and expect to rise; God seeks vessels who are set apart for His glory.
Joseph is a classic example. He was not just chosen; he distinguished himself. His unwavering stand for righteousness set him apart, leading to his supernatural promotion. If you desire to be exceptional, you must take a stand. You cannot blend with the world and expect God to distinguish you.
2. The True Source of Help
The misconception that connections and hard work alone make men is a deception. While effort has its place, the genuine rising of men is orchestrated by God. He is the lifter of men.
Not everyone will rise, for the falling of some marks the rising of others. Success is not about how early you start but how God chooses to elevate you. When your heart aligns with God, He connects you to destiny helpers who will position you for greatness.
Psalm 121 reminds us to lift our eyes to the hills—symbolic of God, whom we cannot see but believe in. Human help is fleeting and conditional, but divine help is eternal and without strings attached.
3. Be Careful Who You Trust
Discernment is critical on the journey to greatness. Be wary of:
- Sweet talkers who manipulate with words.
- Those who make quick promises but never deliver.
- Individuals who sow discord by exposing leadership faults.
True love is selfless and does not expect anything in return. When your heart is connected to God, He aligns you with the right people at the right time.
4. Why Chase Men When You Can Seek God?
Many people exhaust themselves chasing human helpers—uncles, aunts, friends, and influential figures—only to face disappointment. The truth is, no one can help you unless God instructs them to do so. If men help you without God’s direction, they will control, limit, or even destroy you. But when God commands men to help you, it comes without sorrow.
Favor, grace, and mercy are the instruments of divine help:
- Mercy gives what you do not deserve.
- Grace bestows unmerited favor.
- Favor is God’s divine partiality in your favor.
When God helps you, obstacles turn into stepping stones, and your peers will marvel at your acceleration.
5. Aligning Yourself For Divine Lifting
- Meet the Needs of God – When you prioritize God’s work, you become His responsibility.
- Walk in Obedience – God turns impossibilities into possibilities for those who obey.
- Fix Your Mindset – If your heart is misaligned, help will be far from you.
- Pray with Understanding – When things are done right, prayers become short and effective.
Conclusion
Help comes when your strength fails. But here’s a mystery: God won’t step in unless you first help His work. Those who dedicate themselves to fulfilling God’s mission find their own needs met with ease. Consider David—he did not kill Goliath; God did. The victory was divinely orchestrated to position David for kingship.
The greatest thing you need in life is divine help. When God helps you, everything opposing you will start working for you. Seek Him first, and watch as He lifts you beyond your expectations!
Prayer
O God of divine help, in every area of my life, help me by yourself.
