Key Scripture
And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die – 2Kings 7:3-4 (KJV)
1. Introduction
In life, there are moments when it feels like everything is either moving too slowly or not at all. You work hard, pray hard, and yet, results seem elusive. But have you ever stopped to ask: Who am I walking with?
According to Apostle Chinedu C. Anthony, your association can be the bridge to your destiny—or the wall that holds you back. Entering into maximum—the place of fulfillment, success, and divine purpose—is not a mystery; it’s a product of the connections you keep.
2. The Power of Association
The Bible is filled with stories that show how association impacts destinies. In 2 Kings 7:3-4, four lepers decided to move together, and by their association and decision, a whole nation was saved from famine. In Proverbs 13:20, we are warned that walking with the wise makes you wise, but a companion of fools will be destroyed. Genesis 40 shows how Joseph’s association in prison prepared him for the palace.
Your current level of success—or lack of it—can be traced to your circle. There are 5 things you association can do for you:
- Your association determines your success in life
- Your association determines your speed in life.
- Your association gives you access.
- Your association determines the opportunities you get
- Your association determines how fast you can come up
There are two kinds of association:
- Wrong association will derail and diminish you.
- Right association will propel and promote you.
You cannot befriend people who despise success and expect to become a success story. It simply doesn’t work. God often provides opportunities, but many miss them because of the wrong people they choose to keep around them.
Moreover, when prophecy speaks of your greatness, get ready—temptations will come too! Every promotion comes wrapped in its own set of challenges. But with the right association, these challenges become stepping stones, not stumbling blocks.
Reflective Question
Who are you walking with right now—and are they helping you move towards maximum or dragging you back to minimum?
3. How do I Enter Maximum?
Impartation:
Impartation can move men from minimum to maximum.
Don’t be in church and not be in touch. When a word is said to you don’t trivialise it. Impartation fails people because their hearts are not connected to it. Impartation means getting results but not working like others. The level you have struggled to enter and you couldn’t , look for someone to impart you so that you can enter there.
The Help of God:
God rarely intervenes directly; He sends help through men. Recognize and honour the people He has positioned to lift you.
4. What Do I To Remain At Maximum?
- Covenant: Anything you do consistently for God becomes a covenant after a while.
- Be obedient to instructions.
- Make ministry easy for your Pastor.
5. What Returns People From Maximum To Minimum?
- Unbelief – The day you stop believing you stop receiving.
- Most times people move from maximum to minimum because of offence.
- Pride
Conclusion
When you get to maximum, do all you can to remain there. Never get to the top and begin to find fault with the grace that took you to the top.
When Satan wants to come after you he will first remove your covering. To play with grace is to end in disgrace. The journey to maximum isn’t by chance; it’s by choice and association. Destiny is too precious to be gambled on the wrong friendships. Follow those who know the way to where you are destined to go. Honour grace. Stay connected. Remain obedient.
Because who you follow will determine what follows you.
