Opening Scripture
A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things – Ecclesiastes 10:19 (KJV)
Introduction
Last week, we discovered that there is money inside of us. This week, we move deeper: How do you turn the gifting inside of you into raw cash?
Let’s get something clear—Matthew 6:33 is the foundation of money. The Bible says, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…” The blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow. But money outside God brings pain. There are messages that excite you, and there are those that change your destiny. This is a destiny-changing message.
The Truth About Prosperity
No matter how good you are in your craft, if God doesn’t back you, you will not arrive. Prosperity is not about hard work alone. Hard work has its place, but favour is what brings the difference. Favour means God helping you to cover the shame of your weakness. Let me repeat, loud and clear:
Don’t pursue money and leave God. Our first pursuit must be the Kingdom. The second is righteousness.
Any breakthrough that kills your conscience is not from God. You will lose it the same way you got it.
Your priority must be to know God. Money is not bad. Money is not evil. Why? Because after what God can do, the next thing is what money can do.
God gives peace. Money gives comfort. Money becomes bad only when it is in the hands of a wrong person, when you start placing more value on money than God, than conscience.
Money Is A Necessity
Nobody hates money. In fact, two things end embarrassment: Money and Power.
There are times you need to provide money—you don’t start speaking in tongues. What requires money cannot be handled by prayer.
Let’s understand something important:
No man on earth was created by another man—we are all made by God. But here’s the big question: Did God give us equal talents? Genesis 1:24–27 and Matthew 25:14–15 show that God gave gifts based on our abilities.
You can be highly gifted and still die frustrated if you don’t use it. Every gift God gave you is for trading. If your gift doesn’t bring glory to God, you have failed Him.
Key Truths You Must Hold On To
- No gift is higher than the other.
- As a business owner, build yourself to the point that no one else can offer what you offer.
- No one was created empty.
- If you nurture the one talent God gave you, you can be greater than the one carrying five.
The issue is not what you were given, it’s whether you are faithful with it.
Unfaithfulness is the major problem many Christians have.
Christianity without money is frustration.
Zechariah 1:17 says: “Through prosperity shall my cities be spread abroad.”
The primary assignment God gave us is to preach the gospel.
But the primary vehicle to carry that gospel is money.
Growing up, we heard the phrase “as poor as a church rat” because Christianity became an emblem of poverty. That is not God’s will.
Soul winning becomes easier when money is available.
Salvation without financial freedom is not complete. You are not totally free until you are financially free.
Understanding The Types of Gifts
There are two types of gifts:
- What you were born to do
- What you were trained to do
Now hear this clearly:
The money inside of you is not M.O.N.E.Y. The money inside of you is your gift—your talent.
The process is simple:
- Discover it
- Nurture it
- Trade it
It is in the trading that your gift becomes money.
God gave it to you so you can eat from it. A gift not traded ends in poverty.
So How Do You Turn Your Gifting Into Money?
Use it to solve problems.
Money answers to value. You become a money-making machine when you become a problem-solving machine.
Where do you find money?
Where there are problems.
Look for problems your talent can solve. That’s where money is hiding.
If your gift is used in the wrong place, you will not profit.
If God gave you the gift of dreams, He also gave you the gift of interpretation.
Look at Joseph—he started off dreaming, but in Egypt, he interpreted dreams.
So, how do you discover your gifting?
Anything you do with joy and passion, without being ashamed—that is your calling.
Prayer is powerful, but the climax of prayer is thinking. (Ephesians 3:20)
Stop looking for helpers who will give you money. Look for helpers who will show you the way. You don’t need fish—you need someone who can teach you where to cast your net. (Luke 4:1–4, Isaiah 30:21)
Conclusion
You are not empty. You are not disadvantaged. Inside of you is a gift, and that gift is money waiting to be manifested. But it will not manifest until it is discovered, nurtured, and traded.
The Kingdom needs your gift. The gospel needs your prosperity.
It’s time to rise. Turn your gift into gold.
